Realization 1 – Apartment for elderly person

To allow the safe Senior keeping at home of a person in long-term treatment and has cognitive impairment
we have implemented in Luxembourg the following features in a rental apartment of two rooms:

– Remote opening of the building door via internet control of the intercom system of the building.

– Remote opening of the apartment door via internet control of a motorized lock and equipped with physical and digital keys.

– Detection of life signals such as access to different rooms by installation of motion detectors in the toilet, bathroom, kitchen, living room and bedroom,
and by detecting the use of the light switches, the hob, the hot water and the refrigerator door.
In the absence of life signals, day or night, the system sends email and SMS alerts to helpers

– Surveillance of parts at risk: Bathroom and toilets

– Remote lighting of lights to allow the lighting of the apartment in case of night alert

– Implementation of high definition HD 1080P camera, remotely accessible via smartphone and wifi or 4G in case of inactivity alert but without registration for the respect of the private life and activated only in case of inactivity alert or by using an emergency button. This camera also includes an audio channel to talk with the person without any action necessary on his part, always only in case of alert.

– Implementation of detection of unlocking and opening of the door at night by sensors opening, movement and return actions on the motorized lock to be alerted in case of night exit (frequent in case of cognitive or alzheimer disorder)

This installation allowed:

– to avoid entering a care home with all the costs that this implies and the difficulty of finding places available.
– the old person to keep his apparent independence without putting himself in danger and being reassured by the security provided by the installation.
– to avoid night outings caused by cognitive disorders
– children and carers to live their own lives without anxiety or bad conscience.
– provide remote access to home care and emergency services personnel in the event of the elderly person’s inability to open himself or herself
